ICP x Spéos Summer Photography Program

Develop your photographic voice in Paris.

In summer 2027, the International Center of Photography (ICP) and Spéos International Photography School will run an immersive eight-week program in Paris from June 7 through July 30. 

Through hands-on practice, mentorship, and exploration, this program brings together ICP’s approach to visual storytelling and Spéos’s expertise in technical training, professional practice and knowledge of Paris.

About the Program

This collaborative program combines ICP’s focus on photography as a tool for inquiry with Spéos’s emphasis on technique and professional development.

Work across a range of photographic approaches—from documentary and portraiture to more experimental practices—while developing a personal project shaped by the visual and cultural landscape of Paris.

Learn from both ICP and Spéos instructors, through making, discussion, and direct engagement with the city. 

What You’ll Experience 

• Workshops: Hands-on sessions focused on technique, storytelling, and creative development. Each week concentrates on a specific theme, from introductions to black and white photography and darkroom techniques, to photojournalism, portraiture, post-production, and portfolio creation. Over eight weeks, participants build their technical and creative skills.
• Mentorship: Learn from ICP and Spéos faculty through close guidance and ongoing feedback. Classes are co-taught by instructors from both institutions, offering multiple perspectives, experiences and ideas on contemporary photography. 
• Critiques: Share your work and participate in group discussions that support reflection and growth. 
• Project Development:  Build a body of work over the course of the program, culminating in a presentation to an invited audience.
