A Day in the Life of Australia

on March 1981, 100 distinguished photojournalists set out to capture the flavor of a continent. Their assignment was to photograph "A day in the life of Australia", to freeze on film a speck of time that would stand as a living record. Color and black and white photographs. The photographers from 20 countries including the People`s Republic of China, took 96,000 photographs of people and places that day, spanning the length and breadth of the Australian Continent from Bathurst Island, north of Darwin to Tasmania.
