Still Born
TR647 .E339 2008
Still Born is a story told in fragments as the past penetrates the artist's imagination. Each image obsessively created, styled and then captured by her large format camera is a portrait of the artist or the artist's mother either as herself or inhabiting the body of a teenage girl. The young model in the photographs function as the artist's alter ego and through her Edenmont examines her own memories, identity and history. This form allows the artist to reconstruct but also construct scenes of her past. Edenmont's imagery is characterized by a strong sense of narrative composed by fantasy, role-playing and fiction.
