DeepFreeze!
TR820.5.A6 .M235 2010
"Robert McCabe visited the Antarctic in November 1959, a few weeks before the signing of the Antarctic Treaty. His photographs and text focus on Ross Island, an important base for the early explorers who had preceded his visit by some 50 years. They record as well the color of an aerial supply flight and cargo drop for the South Pole base. The photographs were taken with a Rolleiflex and a Contax. Operation Deep Freeze was the code name for the series of Antarctic programs which started in 1955."--Dust jacket.
