ICP Board Elects New Trustees
The Board of Trustees of the International Center of Photography has elected Michael A. Clinton and Stefano Tonchi as its newest members.
Michael A. Clinton is president, marketing and publishing director, Hearst Magazines. His responsibilities include overseeing the publishing side of several Hearst titles and digital, iPad/tablet, corporate sales and marketing, brand development and advertiser e-commerce initiatives.
Stefano Tonchi is editor in chief, W magazine. He is the creator and former editor in chief of T: The New York Times Style Magazine and previously the fashion creative director at Esquire and creative director for J. Crew.
“Michael and Stefano each bring to ICP intense interest and valuable experience in the worlds of media and photography, which are at the core of ICP’s traditions,” said ICP Board President Jeffrey A. Rosen. “Their passion for photography and for creativity is impressive.”
Clinton is an avid philanthropist, traveler and photographer and the author of several books, including Wanderlust: 100 Countries, A Personal Journey, a collection of essays and photographs from all seven continents. He is the founder and president of Circle of Generosity, a nonprofit organization that delivers monetary help to people in need through acts of anonymous giving. He serves on the Board of Directors of Hearst Corporation and is chairman of the Association of Magazine Media (MPA).
Tonchi has curated a number of exhibitions devoted to style and edited several books on the intersection of art and fashion. He is the co-author of Uniform: Order and Disorder (also an exhibition at P.S. 1/MoMA), and Total Living, Excess: Mainstream and Underground in the ‘80s, which was also an exhibition at the Pitti Palace in Florence. Under his leadership, T: The New York Times Style Magazine expanded internationally and won “Magazine of the Year” from the Society of Publication Designers.
The ICP Board is comprised of 34 Trustees and four honorary Trustees.
