Sarah Moon is a French photographer who began her professional career as a model. She moved behind the camera in 1968 and, Moon explains, "worked like an amateur for two years." She uses soft-focus techniques and stylized tableaux to create dream-like images bordering on the theatrical. Her photographs have appeared in NovaVogueMarie ClaireHarper's Bazaar, and Elle. An exhibition of her work was on view at ICP in 1983 and an accompanying book, Improbable Memories, was published by Matrix.
