2001 Infinity Award: Young Photographer
Already photographing for half of her 29 years, Jerusalem-born Elinor Carucci has earned an international reputation. Inspired by “relationships, by people, the small and big moments of their lives,” her personal work explores the intimacies of her own family life. Two years ago, her photography was noticed by the fashion industry. Since then, her commercial work has been represented by Light Industry, London. Her work has been in numerous American publications, including Vogue, Big, the Village Voice, Newsweek, Photo District News, and The New York Times Magazine along with many European magazines. She has had solo exhibitions of her work in Germany, the Czech Republic, Israel, England, and the United States. In 2000, Carucci was chosen by Photo District News as one of “Thirty under 30 Young Photographers to Watch.” Chronicle Books will publish her first monograph in 2003.
