New Leadership at ICP
Erin Barnett has been appointed Director of Exhibitions and Collections. She is returning to ICP after a 2 1/2-year break as a Managing Editor at Abrams. Prior to Abrams, Erin worked at ICP for twelve years with our Curatorial team and, primarily during her first tenure with us, organized, curated and/or co-curated over 30 shows, publications, and exhibitions. Erin also oversaw the loans, rights and reproduction program, co-taught an ICP/Bard course on research methodologies, and worked with the Acquisitions Committee.
Erin holds a BA in Art History and East Asian studies from Oberlin College and an MA in the History of Art from the University of Kansas. She also studied at the University of London and was part of the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program.
Deirdre Donohue has been appointed as Stephanie Shuman Director of Library, Archives, and Museum Collections. Library, Archives, and Museum Collections is a newly unified department that will oversee the stewardship of all of ICP’s collections and records, and work collaboratively with Education, Information Technology and Exhibitions and Collections to enrich the way that ICP’s content is accessed and utilized.
Deirdre, most recently ICP’s Stephanie Shuman Librarian, has been in the field of Libraries, Archives and Museum Collections for 31 years, starting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1985. She is on the faculty of both Pratt Institute’s School of Information and the ICP-Bard MFA Program, and is on the Board of 10X10 Photobooks. Awards include ARLIS/NA Andrew Cahan Travel Award and an ICP Spotlights Focus Award.
Deirdre’s BA is in Art History and Fine Arts is from SUNY New Paltz and her MS in Information and Library Studies from Pratt Institute.
