Claudia Sohrens

Claudia Sohrens is an artist from Hamburg, Germany. Employing mediums such as the book, the archive and the photograph, her work evolves around different practices of photo archiving. She is the recipient of several artist fellowship awards, such as the 2010 NYFA fellowship for Photography and the A.I.R fellowship; she participated in artist residencies, for example at the Bronx Museum and her work has been exhibited internationally. Sohrens received a BFA in Communications Design from IN.D, in Hamburg, Germany and an MA in Media and Communications from the European Graduate School in Switzerland (EGS), where she is a PhD candidate in Media and Communications. She is currently faculty at the International Center of Photography and at Pratt Institute.
