1997 Infinity Award: Publications
The Killing Fields by Chris Riley and Douglas Niven is the winner of the 1997 Publication award
The Killing Fields presents 78 portraits of people killed by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia under Pol Pot.
Photographers Chris Riley and Douglas Niven found a stash of negatives in a schoolhouse in Cambodia that had been used for torture and executions. Prisoners were routinely photographed upon arrival. The images presented in this book were chosen from among those negatives.
