Nicolai Fuglsig is the 1999 recipient of the Young Photographer Award
Nicolai Fuglsig is a staff photographer at the national newspaper Politiken in Copenhagen. He started his career in photography by taking pictures of fellow windsurfers in northern New Zealand. Photographing in Yugoslavia, he was arrested and expelled from that country for inadvertently taking pictures of a local police station. With his focus undaunted, he undertook a project for a graduate picture book on nuclear pollution in the Russian village, Muslumovo.
