2002 Infinity Award: Young Photographer

Lynsey Addario has completed photographic essays in India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and in and around Mexico where she currently lives. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1995 with a degree in international relations and is fluent in Spanish and Italian, in addition to her native English. She has worked for the New York Times, The Boston Globe, Associated Press, The Houston Chronicle, National Geographic, Newsweek, Time, and Fortune, among others. In 1999, she won the Pictures of the Year Award of Excellence for her story “Midnight Mass in Cuba.” Addario has been a Corbis Saba photographer since 2001, covering events and feature stories.
