1986 Infinity Award: Art

A well-known sculptor, painter, and performance artist, Greek artist Lucas Samaras began working in photography after he discovered the highly malleable wet dyes of freshly made Polaroids. From 1969 to 1983, he explored instant photography as autobiography and has continued to use himself as the subject of his work in other media.
