Join Magnum Photos at ICP on the first day of the exhibition Close Enough: New Perspectives from 12 Women Photographers of Magnum for a special conversation between exhibiting photographers Carolyn Drake and Olivia Arthur. This event is held both in-person, free with museum admission (purchase tickets above) and online

There will also be a curator-led walkthrough of the exhibition on the 30th.

The ability to produce work quickly is often prioritized in today’s economy of photography, but all artists need time to self-reflect, experiment, and learn if they are to keep moving forward. Carolyn Drake and Olivia Arthur will discuss the ways that putting down the camera, working with their hands, and spending time in the non-photographic world has broadened their respective practices. They will also talk about the different ways they work with photographs, including the processes involved in turning them into books and other objects.

This conversation is part of a series of live events featuring Magnum photographers and presented in partnership with Squarespace, the all-in-one website building and ecommerce platform. You can learn more about this event by visiting the Magnum Photos 75 Years digital hub, powered by Squarespace.

Program Format

This program is being offered both in person at ICP, located on NYC's Lower East Side, and online. Attendance is free with museum admission. Tickets to ICP's museum can be reserved above or through the Visit page. Online tickets are free. In person and online tickets are not interchangeable.
