Marina Berio

Marina Berio, Chair Emerita of ICP's Creative Practices Program and current faculty member, is a photographer/artist from New York City. Her drawings and photographs have been exhibited at many art spaces internationally, including most recently at Galerie Miranda in Paris and Galerie Âme Nue in Hamburg, as part of the OFF Triennale, and Shiro Oni Studio in Japan. She's also had shows at Baxter Street / CCNY, Michael Steinberg Fine Art, Yossi Milo Gallery, Smack Mellon, Von Lintel Gallery, and Artists Space in New York; Judy Ann Goldman Fine Art in Boston; Les Rencontres d'Arles in France; and Otto Zoo in Milan. Berio has received a John Simon Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, an Aaron Siskind Foundation Award, a Pollock/Krasner Grant, and a New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship, and has been invited to various residencies, including the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, and Schloss Plüschow in Germany. Berio has been teaching at ICP since 2001, and she was Chair of the General Studies (now Creative Practices) Program from 2008 to 2017.
