Lecture Series Archive

"The Photographers" lecture series was launched in the spring of 1974 to provide a forum for distinguished photographers to present their work and discuss their ideas with an audience of professionals, students, and dedicated amateurs. This unique program offers audiences an opportunity to learn from a range of professionals, including photojournalists, artists, and fashion photographers, and to engage in lively debate.

Photomuse is the online expression of a long-term alliance between George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film and the International Center of Photography. While each institution maintains websites supporting their respective programs and exhibits, George Eastman House and ICP collaborate in building Photomuse to provide online resources for the study of photography: a chronology of the history of the medium and highlights from collaborative exhibitions. We are grateful to the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Booth Ferris Foundation, The Henry Luce Foundation, and Fidelity Foundation for making Photomuse possible.

Conducting Research at ICP

The Print Study Room is open to qualified researchers for the consultation of materials from ICP's Photography Collection. Please review the online holdings at in advance of making an appointment. Given that we can only accommodate four researchers at any one time, it is very difficult to host classes. Research appointments may be made by contacting the Collections Assistant via fax at 212.768.4688 or [email protected]. Please provide your name, address, a detailed description of the research topic and works you would like to see, phone contact number, and date and time requested. ICP staff will respond to help ensure that our holdings can meet your research needs. Please allow at least one week's notice for scheduling. No appointment is set until confirmed by the Collections Assistant.
