Subway by Bruce Davidson
SEPTEMBER 17–NOVEMBER 14, 1982
New York City's subways and the people who ride them, sleep, eat, make love, make music, use as a canvas, live and die in them are the powerful subjects of the exhibition made of 63 color photographs. Davidson rode the subway with a camera for over a year, day and night, in preparation for this major project. Curated by Henry Geldzahler, New York City Commissioner of Cultural Affairs.
