10x10 and the ICP Library present Daisuke Yokota: Color Photographs and Photobooks by Young Japanese Photographers: 2005–2015, two pop-up exhibitions highlighting contemporary Japanese photography and photobooks on view at the ICP-bard MFA Studios during the NY Art Book Fair at MoMA PS1.

In the larger gallery, Daisuke Yokota, an emerging Japanese photographer who received the John Kobal Residency Award at Photo London 2015, will present a selection of abstract color photographs in his first American exhibition organized by Harper's Books and Flying Books (Tokyo). Known for his interdisciplinary and energetic approach to art and book making, Yokota is helping to redefine the role of photography in the social media era.

Complementing the Yokota exhibition will be a reading room of photobooks by young Japanese photographers from the past 10 years. Organized by 10x10 Photobooks, the selection will reflect holdings from the International Center of Photography’s vast collection of Japanese photobooks and present an overview of the diverse photographic voices now gaining attention in Japan. Included among the more than 30 photobooks on view will be books by Daisuke Yokota, Shimpei Takeda, Sakiko Nomura, Hiroshi Takizawa, and Yusuke Yamatani.
