Join ICP’s Managing Director of Programs David Campany for a remote in-gallery tour and presentation of #ICPConcerned: Global Images for Global Crisis, an evolving exhibition heading towards 1,000 images drawn from #ICPConcerned posts on Instagram made from the time New York City went into lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, through the thousands of Black Lives Matter demonstrations that have taken place since the murder of George Floyd, through now.

Campany will show the installation process, which includes an in-gallery printing station, and conduct a walk-through of the physical space before giving a presentation of the images submitted from over 60 countries featured in the exhibition.

About #ICPConcerned

#ICPConcerned: Global Images for Global Crisis presents a selection of photographs collected from the ICP Concerned hashtag on Instagram, initiated by the International Center of Photography in March 2020. The images, chosen by ICP staff, including curators, administrators, and educators, presents a wide range of responses to recent worldwide events, from the COVID-19 pandemic to Black Lives Matter protests and beyond.

As ICP’s space in New York City remains closed to the public due to the pandemic, no one can visit the exhibition yet. But the process and the installation are being documented and shown online, taking the images back to the worldwide audience that made them. When it is safe to re-open ICP, the public will be able to come see a visual account of this tumultuous era.

The #ICPConcerned exhibition will continue to grow alongside the Instagram archive in the coming months, eventually encompassing 1,000 images. We encourage you to keep showing us how you are responding in this moment by tagging #ICPConcerned on Instagram.
