The windows of the Library at the International Center of Photography currently feature the exhibition History Contested: Books from the Middle East. With over 40 publications including photo books, historical surveys, monographic studies, exhibition catalogues, and scholarly journals, it explores from a variety of perspectives, the role that photography has played in shaping the social, cultural, and political realities of the region.

The exhibition, organized by Guest Curator Daniel Mason, includes books from the collection of the ICP Library and that of Mason.
