The fire occurred at the AMEKO (American Kitchen Products Co.) Building, next to the Brooklyn Bridge (at left). Minicam Photography, July 1946, states: "The sign across the center of the building [Simply Add Boiling Water] refers to the frankfurters, not the firemen." Actually, the sign refers to AMEKO's chief product: bouillon cubes.
