Full-Time Programs Intern

Department: Education
Schedule: 2–3 days per week
Dates Required: From the time the intern starts, they are expected to be here for a minimum of 3 months

The International Center of Photography’s Full-Time Programs consist of a joint MFA in Photography with Bard College and two separate One-Year Certificate programs (Documentary Photography and Photojournalism, and General Studies). These programs offer students the opportunity to grow in an environment that emphasizes photographic practice and its creative and professional applications. Full-time students become a part of a vibrant multi-national community that draws from the history and traditions of the image while being rooted in current and evolving aspects of the medium.

The main responsibility of this internship is to support the department with their Full-Time Programming:
• Assist with the maintenance and update of the digital student files and student databases
• Prepare materials for incoming and current students
• Assist with special events such as open houses, graduation, orientation, and Career Day
• Assist in recruitment activities and opportunity fairs
• Respond to and field inquiries for programs—in-person, telephone, and email
• Other administrative responsibilities as required (such as copying, filing, etc.)


The Full-Time Programs division within the Education Department is looking for an organized and energetic internship candidate. Applicants must demonstrate attention to detail, ability to take initiative, and also possess strong administrative skills. Ideal candidates should have the capacity to work independently as well as part of a larger team. He/she must also have strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, is required. An interest in photography is preferred.


Besides gaining invaluable experience at a premier cultural/educational institution; interns are eligible for partial tuition scholarship towards classes as well as granted access and discounts towards the darkroom and digital labs. Interns can also benefit from school credit, when needed and are invited to attend ICP seminars and special events.
